The vehicle speed sensor (G22) sends the speed signal to the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster sends the speed signal to the ABS, engine and transmission via the drivetrain can-bus communications system. Have the shop check block 003, display field 1 in the transmission control module. This should show the vehicle speed in km/h. Turn the ignition switch ON while holding the odometer/trip meter switch for 5 - 8 seconds to enter self diagnosis mode. The odometer/trip meter will display tESt in self diagnosis mode.
